Last updated: August 28, 2026 · Version 2.0 (replaces the version of May 17, 2026) Effective: immediately for new sign-ups; on September 27, 2026 for existing accounts. Earlier versions are available on request at legal@hahoowa.app.

Hahoowa is a marketplace and a social platform that connects people. To keep it safe, useful and trustworthy, everyone follows these rules. They complement our Terms of Service and apply to all content: listings, photos, videos (Spots), stories (Drops), posts, comments, messages, live streams, profiles, names, bios, storefronts and communities.

We enforce these rules diligently, objectively and proportionately, taking your rights into account — including freedom of expression. Every decision is reasoned and can be appealed to a human (see "Penalties and appeals").

How to read this document. Each rule states what Hahoowa does when it is broken:

  • 🚫 Removal — the content is deleted or hidden.
  • 🏷️ Label — the content stays up, with a context warning.
  • 📉 Downranking — the content stays up but is recommended less.
  • 🔞 Age restriction — restricted to adults.
  • Immediate ban — outside the progressive scale, for the most serious violations.

✅ What's welcome

  • Genuine listings for goods and services you actually offer.
  • Live streams to present products, host Q&A, share expertise.
  • Good-faith exchanges between buyers and sellers.
  • Honest, verifiable reviews and feedback.
  • AI Spots promoting your own genuine listings, clearly identified as AI-generated.

🚫 1. Personal safety

1.1 Protection of minors — zero tolerance ⛔

Any content exploiting or endangering children is prohibited without any exception and results in an immediate ban + reporting to the authorities (NCMEC, Moroccan and European authorities): sexual content involving minors (real or AI-generated), solicitation (grooming), facilitating contact for abuse purposes. We cooperate fully with the authorities.

1.2 Violence and incitement ⛔🚫

Prohibited: credible threats of violence, incitement to violence against people or property, glorification of perpetrators of mass violence, organization of violent acts. Removal, and immediate ban for credible threats.

1.3 Terrorism and violent extremism ⛔

Prohibited: advocacy, propaganda, financing or promotion of terrorist or violent extremist organizations (aligned with Moroccan Law 03-03 and the EU Terrorist Content Regulation). Removal within one hour upon an authority's order, immediate ban, reporting.

1.4 Suicide and self-harm 🚫

Prohibited: promotion, encouragement or instructions. We remove this content and point to help resources. Sharing a lived experience for support purposes is allowed, without dangerous details.

1.5 Non-consensual intimate images (NCII) 🚫⛔

Prohibited: distributing intimate images or videos without the person's consent, including edited media and deepfakes (aligned with Article 447 of the Moroccan Penal Code, the U.S. Take It Down Act and French law). Report with the reason "Sexual content" or, without an account, write to legal@hahoowa.app with the subject line "NCII" — priority handling. Ban of the author, efforts to prevent republication.

🚫 2. Hate and harassment

2.1 Hate speech 🚫

Prohibited: attacks, dehumanization, calls for exclusion or insults targeting people on the basis of a protected attribute. The protected attributes are: ethnic or national origin, race, color, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity and expression, age, disability, serious illness, immigration status, tribal affiliation. These protections are stable — they do not vary with circumstances. Removal; hate symbols are prohibited.

2.2 Harassment, threats, doxxing 🚫

Prohibited: targeted harassment, intimidation, threats, disclosure of another person's personal data without consent (address, phone number, documents), coordinated campaigns against a person ("dogpiling"). You can block any user from their profile — blocking cuts off all interaction in both directions (follows, messages, comments, reactions, live streams, gifts) without notifying the person — and report their account.

🚫 3. False information and information integrity

Hahoowa is not an arbiter of general truth, and we protect debate, opinion, satire and good-faith error. But some false information causes real harm: we act on that kind.

3.1 Dangerous disinformation 🚫 — the three categories we remove

We remove, after human review, false information that presents a serious risk of harm, in three precise cases:

  • Health: false claims likely to harm health — fake remedies, "this product cures cancer / diabetes", dangerous vaccine disinformation, incitement to abandon vital treatment. (On a marketplace, this also covers products sold with false therapeutic claims.)
  • Violence: false information likely to incite imminent violence or to single out people or places for retribution.
  • Election integrity: false information about the practical arrangements of a vote (date, place, procedure, eligibility conditions), or aimed at depriving people of their right to vote.

Our systems detect this content and systematically submit it to human review: disinformation is never removed by a machine alone.

3.2 Other false information 🏷️📉

For the rest — rumors, misleading content without imminent risk — we favor context over censorship: we may add a context label, downrank distribution, and point you to reliable sources, rather than remove. We do not remove an opinion, clearly identified satire, or legitimate debate.

3.3 Manipulated media and deepfakes 🏷️🚫

Substantially manipulated or synthetic media that could mislead (making a real person appear to say or do something that did not happen) must be clearly identified. We label or remove depending on the risk of confusion and harm; during election periods, vigilance is heightened. See also Section 8 (AI content).

3.4 What you can do

Report information you consider false and dangerous with the reason "Dangerous false information". Good-faith content that has been mislabeled can be contested.

🚫 4. Defamation, slander and false accusations

Your reputation, and that of sellers, is an asset we protect.

4.1 False accusations against an identifiable person 🚫

Prohibited: asserting as a fact that an identifiable person (another user, a seller, a named third party) has committed a wrongful act — theft, fraud, adultery, crime — without evidence and in bad faith. Defamation and slander are offenses in Morocco (Penal Code and Law 88-13 on the press) as in most countries. Removal after human review — never by a machine alone; in the case of a campaign, the account is penalized.

What remains allowed: an honest review of a transaction actually experienced ("the package never arrived, the seller doesn't reply"), good-faith criticism, the expression of an opinion. The line is: false and malicious alleged fact (prohibited) vs honest experience or opinion (allowed).

4.2 Impersonation 🚫⛔

Prohibited: passing yourself off as another person, brand, company, institution or Hahoowa staff member — through the name, photo, bio or behavior — in order to deceive. This includes fake "Hahoowa Support" accounts, fake accounts of well-known sellers, and the use of another's name or logo. Account, storefront and community names imitating Hahoowa or its official functions are blocked at creation. Removal of the account; ban in case of intent to defraud or phish. Parody or fan accounts are allowed only if they clearly identify themselves as such in the name and bio.

4.3 Privacy violations 🚫

Prohibited: publishing private information about others (contact details, documents, private images) without consent. See also 1.5 (intimate images) and 2.2 (doxxing).

4.4 What you can do

Report with the reasons "Defamation or false accusation", "Impersonation" or "Privacy violation". You can also block the author from their profile.

🚫 5. Fraud, scams and deceptive practices

This is our safety priority on a marketplace.

5.1 Fraudulent listings 🚫

Prohibited: phantom listings (no real product), product substitution (the delivered item differs from the listing), stolen or misleading photos, "too good to be true" prices designed as bait, mass duplicates.

5.2 Off-platform payment and diversion 🚫⛔

Prohibited: pushing people to pay through untraceable, risky channels (Western Union, MoneyGram, prepaid cards, cryptocurrency, bank transfer to a private individual "to reserve"), moving the conversation to an external messaging app to close a scam there, or sending fake "payment" or "delivery" links. Never pay a deposit before seeing the item; a genuine employer never asks for upfront fees.

5.3 Interpersonal scams 🚫⛔

Prohibited: advance-fee scams, romance scams and "love traps", fake buyers on delivery (COD) sending fake proofs of payment, phishing, pyramid schemes and deceptive MLM recruiting, miracle "investments". Proven perpetrators are banned.

5.4 Counterfeits and intellectual property infringement 🚫

Prohibited: fake branded items, copies, pirated software and subscriptions (IPTV, accounts), products infringing copyright (aligned with Moroccan Law 2-00 / 17-97). Removal; repeat offenders are banned. Rights holders: reason "Copyright / trademark infringement" or legal@hahoowa.app.

5.5 Fake reviews and reputation manipulation 🚫

Prohibited (where reviews exist): writing, buying or trading fake reviews, artificially inflating a rating. Only verified transactions will be able to give rise to a review.

5.6 What you can do

Report with "Scam or fraud", "Fake listing" or "Counterfeit". An account that approaches you with a scam can be reported from its profile ("Report this account") — and you can block it.

🚫 6. Authenticity and platform integrity

6.1 Fake accounts and coordinated inauthentic behavior 🚫⛔

Prohibited: networks of fake accounts, account farms, astroturfing, concealed coordination to manipulate visibility, opinion or a conversation (including for political or commercial purposes). We dismantle these account networks, regardless of the content they publish.

6.2 Penalty evasion 🚫

Prohibited: re-creating an account to escape a suspension or a ban. We do not practice indiscriminate collective punishment by device or by address (shared devices are common): a body of converging evidence is required.

6.3 Engagement manipulation and spam 🚫📉

Prohibited: fake likes, fake followers, fake viewers, purchased engagement; mass sending of messages or comments; unauthorized automated posting; duplicate listings.

6.4 Data extraction and technical abuse 🚫

Prohibited: unauthorized scraping, reverse engineering, attempts to disrupt or circumvent our moderation, security and payment systems.

🚫 7. Political content and political advertising

Hahoowa is a marketplace, not a political arena.

7.1 Paid political advertising — prohibited ⛔🚫

No ad, no boost, no sponsoring, no paid branded content may promote a party, a candidate, an elected official or a referendum, or aim to influence an election or a legislative process. The accounts of parties, candidates and political institutions are excluded from advertising and monetization. This prohibition is total and applies everywhere: any advertising creative detected as political is blocked before serving and submitted to human review. (It brings us into compliance with the European regulation on political advertising, which Meta and Google chose to address by ceasing all political advertising in the EU.)

7.2 Organic political content

Users' legitimate political debate and expression are not prohibited, but they remain subject to all the other rules (hate, dangerous disinformation, harassment, election integrity). During election periods, we step up monitoring of manipulation and may cut off the monetization of election-related live streams.

🏷️ 8. AI-generated content

When you use Hahoowa's AI studios (Spots, presenters, images):

  • ✅ You may promote your own genuine listings. Every output of our studios automatically carries the "AI-generated" label and is recorded in our provenance registry.
  • ✅ You may use Hahoowa's presenter library (those creators consented to it).
  • 🏷️ You must clearly indicate (for example in the caption or description) any realistic content generated or substantially modified by AI that you import from elsewhere.
  • 🚫 Prohibited: depicting a real, identifiable person without their written consent; cloning a voice without consent; generating an avatar from a minor's face; infringing copyright (characters, brand mascots).
  • ⛔ Prohibited: using AI to deceive — misleading deepfakes, false statements attributed to public figures, disinformation, false claims about yourself or your product.

🔞 9. Adult content, nudity and regulated goods

9.1 Nudity and sexual content 🚫

Pornographic content and sexual services are prohibited on Hahoowa, without exception. AI-generated nudity is treated like real nudity. Narrow exceptions: medical or educational content, breastfeeding, art. Context prevails, but when in doubt we restrict.

9.2 Prohibited or regulated goods and services

The list below is authoritative. Prohibited from sale and promotion: weapons and ammunition; drugs and narcotics; stolen goods; counterfeits; protected species and products derived from them; human tissue and organs; hacked accounts and access; alcohol; cryptocurrencies and currency exchange; gambling; medicines and products with therapeutic claims; official documents and forged documents. Restricted (required disclosures and supporting documents): real estate (title deed or mandate), vehicles (papers in order), pets (welfare and traceability). We may expand this list to keep pace with the law; any update is announced (see "Updates").

🌍 10. Local laws and availability by country

Some content is lawful in one country and unlawful in another. Rather than removing content everywhere, we may make it unavailable only in the countries where it is illegal. This applies in particular to content covered by specific local provisions (in Morocco: offense to the Islamic religion, to the monarchy or to territorial integrity, Article 267-5 of the Penal Code).

When we apply such a restriction, it is notified, reasoned and contestable like any decision, and it targets a content category and a territory — never the identity of a protected group (see 2.1): our content rules are the same for everyone, and the only thing added is a country-by-country legal-compliance layer.

Reporting a violation

  1. Tap ⚠ Report on the content or account concerned.
  2. Choose the closest reason: scam or fraud, fake listing, counterfeit, spam, impersonation, defamation or false accusation, dangerous false information, harassment or threats, hate speech, sexual content, privacy violation, minor in danger, copyright / trademark infringement, illegal content, other.
  3. Add details if useful.

You can also block a user from their profile, and write to legal@hahoowa.app. For non-consensual intimate images, without an account: legal@hahoowa.app, subject line "NCII" — priority handling.

What we do with your report. We acknowledge receipt immediately, with a tracking identifier; we examine it diligently and non-arbitrarily, with a target time of 24 hours for urgent safety matters (threats, minors, sexual content, hate, privacy violations, illegal content) and 7 days for the rest; and we inform you of the decision, as we do the content's author. Reports from trusted flaggers designated by the authorities (DSA Art. 22) will be handled with priority.

Penalties and appeals

How we decide

Every moderation decision is notified to you, with the reason, the rule concerned and the avenue of appeal — and delivered to your in-app notifications even if you have turned off alerts for that category. We combine automated tools (AI analysis, including in dialectal Arabic) and human review for ambiguous cases, reports and appeals. Sensitive cases — defamation, impersonation, dangerous false information, political advertising — are always decided by a human. An error in our systems never automatically publishes content: in case of doubt or failure, the content remains pending a decision.

The penalty scale

Breaches lead to progressive penalties. Each strike expires after 90 days.

Active strikes Consequence
1 Warning + removal of the content concerned
2 Restriction (read-only) for 1 day — you can browse, but no longer post or interact
3 Restriction (read-only) for 3 days
4 Restriction (read-only) for 7 days
5 Suspension of the account for 7 days
6 Suspension for 30 days (alert: "your account is approaching a ban")
7 and more Ban

During a restriction or a suspension, you keep access to your rights: the "Account Status" page, filing an appeal, exporting your data and deleting the account remain accessible.

Immediate ban (zero tolerance) ⛔

Certain violations result in a ban upon the first finding, outside the scale: child sexual exploitation, terrorism, credible threat of violence, human trafficking, non-consensual intimate images, and proven fraud in the payment flow. Reporting to the authorities where required by law. Where fraud is suspected, an immediate precautionary suspension is possible for the duration of the investigation — reasoned, notified and contestable.

Your appeal

Any decision (removal, strike, restriction, suspension, ban) can be challenged free of charge from the "Account Status" page, for 6 months. Your appeal is examined by a human (never by a fully automated decision), with a target response within 72 hours. If your appeal is well-founded, the contested decision is reversed: the strike is removed, the penalty lifted; the content concerned is re-reviewed and reinstated if it does not break the rules. If you reside in the EU, you can also refer the matter to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body; in all cases, you keep the right to go to court.

Report misuse

Repeatedly reporting manifestly lawful content in bad faith may, after a warning, lead to the suspension of your right to report.
