Live rules

Lives follow all of our community guidelines. This page sums up what matters most when you are live, on camera or in the chat.

Who can broadcast, who can watch

  • Broadcasting a live: 18 or older. The first time you go live, you are asked to confirm it if your account has not already done so.
  • Watching a live: 13 or older. Without an account, you are asked for your month and year of birth once; the answer stays on your device.
  • Appearing on screen as a guest: 18 or older.
  • Sending gifts or super-chats, promoting your live: 18 or older.
  • One live at a time per account.

What is welcome

  • Showing your products, answering questions, sharing your know-how.
  • Showing the real product, at the real price, in its real condition.

What is forbidden in a live

  • Putting anyone in danger, including yourself: dangerous acts, self-harm, risky challenges.
  • Minors: no content that exposes, sexualises or endangers a child. Minors do not broadcast lives.
  • Nudity and sexual content, violence, hate, harassment, threats.
  • Filming or showing people (or their data: address, phone, documents) without their consent.
  • Misleading selling: a different product from the one shown, fake prices, counterfeits, prohibited items, false urgency (“only one left” when it is not true).
  • Asking for a payment outside the order: a deposit, a bank transfer or a payment link. Sales are paid on delivery, directly to the seller, according to the order placed on Hahoowa.
  • Gambling: draws, lotteries or bets tied to gifts or super-chats, or promising a refund or a gift in return for support.
  • Pressuring viewers for gifts, or fake support sent from your own accounts.
  • Unmasking a supporter: do not reveal who is behind “A supporter”, and do not ask anyone to leave discreet mode.
  • Chat spam and manipulation (fake viewers, fake reviews).

Inviting someone on screen

  • You invite one person at a time; they accept or decline, and they can leave whenever they want. You can remove them at any time.
  • By accepting, the guest agrees to appear in your live, and to these rules. Everyone answers for what they show and say; you, for your live and your invitations.
  • The guest’s image is analysed like yours. A guest who breaks the rules is removed from the screen and receives a strike; your live is not cut for what the guest showed.
  • A guest’s presence on screen (who, in which live, when) is kept for 12 months after the live ends; their image is not recorded.

Super-chats

  • A super-chat is a paid message, public and signed: it shows its author’s name and its tier, even if the author supports discreetly.
  • It follows the same rules as any message. Rejected by automated moderation just after it is posted, it is removed and refunded.
  • You cannot delete it from your chat: report it. Removed by the Hahoowa team because it breaks the rules, it disappears for everyone, without a refund.

What Hahoowa does during a live

  • An image of the live is analysed automatically about once a minute; chat messages are analysed after they are posted.
  • A live that breaks the rules can be interrupted. Its replay is removed and you cannot start a live for 24 hours; the decision may count as a strike.
  • Every decision is explained to you and you can appeal it: see Decisions and appeals on your lives.

Someone in danger?

If someone is in danger during a live, call emergency services, then report the live with the reason Someone in immediate danger: see Report a live or an emergency. The person in distress is never sanctioned for it.
