Moderate your live chat

During your live, you stay in control of your chat.

On a message

Open the message actions (long-press in the app, menu on the web):

  • Delete message: it disappears for everyone;
  • Mute (this live): the person keeps watching but can no longer write in this live. You can unmute them;
  • Block: they can no longer write in your chat or contact you, on all your lives;
  • Report this message if it breaks the rules.

A super chat (paid message) cannot be deleted from your chat: only the Hahoowa team can remove it. Report it if it breaks the rules. Once removed by the team, it disappears for everyone, but the purchase does not change: it still counts in your earnings.

Slow mode

Slow mode limits each viewer to one message every 5, 10 or 30 seconds. Handy when the chat gets out of hand.

What Hahoowa already does

  • Too many messages in a row: sending is slowed down automatically.
  • Messages are analysed after they are posted; a message that breaks the rules can be removed.
  • A sanctioned account cannot write in the chat.
  • Someone you blocked (or who blocked you) cannot interact with your live.

Good to know

  • Chat messages are kept for 12 months after the live ends.
  • If someone in your chat seems to be in danger, do not handle it alone: see Report a live or an emergency.
