Buy safely
Who takes the payment?
Hahoowa never collects the price of an item. When you buy from another member, you agree directly with them on payment and hand-over: Hahoowa does not hold the money, does not ship anything and cannot refund an item.
On some listings, the Order — cash on delivery button sends your order to the seller: no online payment, you pay when you receive it. This button asks for a Moroccan phone number.
You then receive a WhatsApp message to confirm the order: it comes from Hahoowa’s confirmation service or from the seller. It asks you to confirm or cancel your order, never to pay in advance.
The golden rule: never pay in advance
Nobody — not a seller, not a courier, not a message in Hahoowa’s name — should ask you to pay for an item before you have seen it, by bank transfer, payment link, Western Union, MoneyGram, prepaid card or cryptocurrency. That is a scam.
Hahoowa will never send you a link to pay for an item. Our own services are only paid by in-app purchase in the app (App Store or Google Play) or with your Hahoowa balance, never through a link received in a message, on WhatsApp or by SMS.
Good habits
- Keep your conversations on Hahoowa messaging. Be wary of anyone who wants to move elsewhere quickly.
- Meeting in person: in a public place, during the day. Inspect the item before paying.
- Property: visit before paying anything. Vehicle: check the papers and test-drive it. Job: a real employer never asks for fees.
- An unusually low price is often a warning sign.
- Check the seller’s profile before committing.
Something feels wrong?
- Report the listing or the account with the reason “Scam or fraud”.
- Block the account from its profile.
- If you lost money, also go to the police: Hahoowa is not a party to the transaction and cannot recover money you paid.
